THE DAY<\/p>\n
So the last two days have been spent reevaluating just where this writing in the dark is taking me. \u00a0(Have I mentioned how much I dislike NOT working from an outline?) \u00a0I got to the point where I was writing this scene and thinking…but I don’t need this. \u00a0<\/em>I should mention that it had taken me about two days of NOT getting that scene done for me to realize that.<\/p>\n Which, of course, made me question where I was going; if the idea I had when I started would work.<\/p>\n Short answer: it still does. \u00a0Long answer: I have to change how I get there.<\/p>\n The last day or so have been spent figuring that out (as well as doing a lot of housekeeping stuff because we’re heading out on a trip soon and I’ll be VERY quiet for about two weeks). \u00a0Do I have it all? \u00a0No. \u00a0Do I have most of what I need? \u00a0I think so.<\/p>\n Is the husband militating that I should write an outline? \u00a0He is. \u00a0Will I? \u00a0Maybe so. \u00a0I have a lot of downtime on a plane, after all. \u00a0Might be worth just knuckling down and writing some barebones stuff, just to keep the ideas fresh.<\/p>\n Yesterday was spent thinking and jotting notes. \u00a0Today was spent packing and then freezing vegetables I won’t be able to use up before we leave. \u00a0Tomorrow, back to writing; I should be able to finish a chapter before I go.<\/p>\n WRITING OUT LOUD Day 1: 1000 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Day 23-26: 9450 Blog Post: 540 And about to become much quieter. \nWhat I’m Watching:
\nThe last episode of this season’s\u00a0The Americans.<\/em> \u00a0Crap. \u00a0I hate knowing how this all ends. \u00a0Also tried getting through another\u00a0Who<\/em> (about Van Gogh) and just didn’t have it in me to get excited. \u00a0But I was also grumpy and, actually, yesterday, I swam, so there was no\u00a0Who\u00a0<\/em>at all. \u00a0Today, I opted for a few episodes of\u00a0Humans<\/em>, the first episode of which I’d watched before, and liked. \u00a0It’s still pretty good. \u00a0Kind of … predictable? \u00a0But any excuse to watch William Hurt is a good one.

\nWhat I’m Reading:
\nFinally settling into\u00a0Finders Keepers. \u00a0<\/em>It’s not bad. \u00a0Not great. \u00a0Kind of silly, in a way, but since I’ll probably end up reading\u00a0End of Watch<\/em>, I figured I might as well. \u00a0(Not that I thought\u00a0Mr. Mercedes\u00a0<\/em>was all that terrific; Bradley was a silly villain, and not all that believable–and of course, everyone’s problems go back to their nasty mother, right?)

\nWhat I’m Listening to:
\nNot much; news folks talking about how hard it is to interview Trump and what their responsibility ought to be. \u00a0Also the recycled stuff about Orlando, which is awful–but I agree with Obama and every other politician who’s come out to ask just what kind of nation we want to be. \u00a0I don’t care what Marco Rubio decides. \u00a0You could have indeed prevented this with tougher gun laws because then the guy would’ve had to resort to something else that might have been a lot less lethal. \u00a0The gun laws in this country have to change.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
