ASHES Book Trailer

Some lovely kids from Devizes School in the UK did an ASHES book trailer for a project.  Well, the result is fabulous.  You can see how hard these kids worked, and I am honored they chose my book.

Enjoy this.  I love it.  HUZZAH to all involved!

  1. What a great trailer! I like how they showed the “before” and “after” with black and white and then color. And I’m SO EXCITED you stopped by my blog!!! Best surprise ever. Thank you so much!

  2. Well, how could I not after Egmont went ape? I had to see with my own beady little eyes what all the fuss was about. So thank you 🙂

  3. Oh, that’s awesome. Makes me realize how nicely it would adapt to a full-length movie. Maybe someday?

  4. Wow!! I can’t believe all the great comments over this!!! Thank you (I’m the red head playing Alex!!). Thank you Ilsa for writing such an amazing book that we could use for our project

  5. Just finished reading ashes and loved it. What i want to know is will there be a second one?

  6. I ‘m a high school teacher librarian and a lover of YA lit.
Ashes is a book that I read over a week ago, in one day, and can’t stop thinking about. Even read one chapter over again to make sure I hadn’t missed something. Telling all the readers at my school, and we had lots thankfully, that Ashes is a must read. Thanks for writing a book that will keep kiddos reading.

  7. Well, thank you, Lottie. I love hearing from librarians and I do hope your kids enjoy the book. Where’s your school?

  8. I really think about the reason why you named this particular blog post,
“ASHES Book Trailer | Ilsa J. Bick”.
    Regardless I admired it!Thank you,Eunice

  9. I think that this trailer was c**p. It doesn’t show the excitement and the movie-like plot at all. It’s a total piece of s**t. Despite this, I still think that the plot will make an epic movie, what with all it’s action and horror. You might want to make it more well known to some directors, maybe in Hollywood, where they could make a film that probably will become the greatest hit, something like Inception.

  10. Well, remember, this and other trailers were done by kids and/or librarians, not pros. Me, I take them for what they are: labors of love and a compliment. My books touched these kids, and that’s what I’m after.

As for Hollywood . . . believe me, it’s not as if I’ve not tried. Hollywood is a strange animal. You can’t push ideas or projects on these guys; they’ve got people who actively trawl magazines and the Internet–things like PW–looking for new stuff. I’ve had calls; there’s been some interest. But nothing serious, and I’m not holding my breath.
